I paid the past due amount to the old insurance provider before obtaining an insurance policy with a new insurance company – as we couldn’t renew the old one unless I paid them an amount up-front. We have a decent insurance rate with the new insurance company, but one month later, we received a letter that stated the discounts were removed because of the lapse in our coverage. If our car insurance policy in the past has lapsed, are we going to be targeted for higher insurance rates in Charleston WV?
